Countryside offers
both a kennel and a
separate cattery
For our doggie friends, we
have 50 units
for large breeds and 50 for small breeds or senior citizens. Each guest
room is divided into a heated 4' x 3' sleeping / eating area and a 4' x
10' play area which is well ventilated but enclosed from the elements.
We use concrete floors throughout for sanitary purposes.
The play runs are separated by 4' cinder block walls topped by
chainlink for privacy and security. The small-dog wing is generally
warmer and quieter, for our less robust and geriatric guests.
Our kitties stay in the
cattery, located in
a separately heated, soundproof wing. We have 24 kitty condos, some of
which are connected with a door so kitties from the same family can
visit back and forth, but still have some privacy.
The condos are 3' x 2' x 2-1/2', divided into three stories. The bottom
level holds the litter box, the second level is where we serve meals,
and the third level is "the bunk" where kitties can recline
at their leisure.
The cattery also contains its own playroom -- a sunny, enclosed room
with a bay window, where every cat gets to spend a short time daily
while we clean the condo and bring breakfast. The playroom has
scratching posts and toys. Cats go into the playroom individually, so
there is no contact between pets.
