OUR STAFF
Countryside Pet Spa employs an average of 12 to 18 staff members to care for our guests and maintain the facility. The staff includes kennel attendants (feeders and run cleaners), office staff, an all-breed groomer, and full-time ABKA-certified (American Boarding Kennel Association) pet technicians.
The feeders’ main duties are to greet and feed the dogs and cats in the morning, fill out report cards, make sure the sleeping / dining areas are clean, vacuum the halls and attend to any of your pet’s daily needs.
The run cleaners scrub the kennel play runs daily, make sure each guest has fresh water, and disinfect kennels in preparation for our next guests.

All employees carry out any extra services you have requested for your pet, like walks or snuggles. During our peak season, we employ extra staff to care of our extra guests.

Our staff is professional and well trained. Many of the younger employees go on to careers in pet care as veterinary technicians or doctors. We believe in ongoing education and hold regular training seminars. Our office staff is trained to administer basic medications and to ensure the welfare of your pet.  BACK TO TOP

DINING
At Countryside Pet Spa, we feed high quality IAMS / Eukanuba dry dog and cat foods. We also offer canned food if your pet prefers a mixture.

If pets are not eating well, we encourage them to eat by adding warm water. If this fails, we add a bit of canned food or a small scoop of peanut butter... all served with TLC of course. We seldom fail to entice our guests to eat!

Typically, breakfast is the meal of the day, served between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. We leave the bowls with the guests so they can eat at their leisure. You may arrange for meals at other times if you prefer. If your pet is on a special diet, our kennel attendants are happy to serve it—just bring it along and give us careful instructions.

Meals served at other times or requiring some detailed preparation will include an extra charge.  BACK TO TOP

VACCINATIONS
We require a statement from a veterinarian that your pet has received the following vaccines recently enough that they would still be effective.  BACK TO TOP
DOGS
  • distempter / parvo booster
  • bordetella (for kennel cough)
CATS
  • distempter / upper respiratory
  • chlamydia

EMERGENCIES
Kennel attendants are on the lookout for any medical problems. If they notice any difficulty, it is immediately reported to our certified pet technicians. They will evaluate the pet and decide on a course of action. If the problem is serious, we will call your emergency number to inform you of the situation. Next, we will call to consult with your veterinarian. If your vet is in the area, we can take your pet there. If your vet is outside our area, we will use Sandy Animal Clinic because it is nearby and has a 24-hour emergency clinic.

Emergencies are rare, but our capable staff is always ready.  BACK TO TOP
